The second week of the summer transfer window has now come to an end, and we can definitely say one thing: things are gathering pace. In the last week, the hierarchy of Chelsea Football Club has completely changed with Bruce Buck, Petr Cech and Marina Granovskaia all leaving their positions in the near future. As for Buck and Granovskaia, it was pretty much expected that they would leave the club after the change of ownership given their ties to Roman Abramovich, but the latest departure of the club legend, Cech, came as a surprise to all the Chelsea supports.

In the end, it was his own decision to leave the club, despite Todd Boehly wanting to keep the legendary figure in west London. Maybe this change is for the good of the club as recent reports suggested that both Cech and Granovskaia were willing to give Romelu Lukaku another season at the club to prove himself, which would have been disastrous for the Blues. This is a positive sign for Chelsea going forward as the new owner is completely backing the manager and trusting his judgment with players in the ever-changing squad.

Massive deals and big-name players like Frankie de Jong, Lukaku and many more could be on the move this week. Many important bids for players like Richarlison, and perhaps even a big money one for Matthijs de Ligt, will be placed this week. For Chelsea fans, this week will hopefully prove to be a very good one filled with transfer news as players could be on the move—both in terms of incomings and outgoings. The preseason is also about to start on the 2nd of July, meaning players like Ethan Ampadu, Armando Broja, Levi Colwill and many more will be given the chance to stake their claim in the Blues’ first team squad for the upcoming season.

Here’s the biggest news from the past week regarding Chelsea transfers.
