5. Hakim Ziyech likely to leave the Blues this summer

The new ownership has firmly asserted its dominance and changed the way the former board operated by backing Tuchel, even if it means that the club is losing some money in the short-term. Now that the Lukaku saga is about to come to an end this week, there is another player who could leave the club for the Serie A, Ziyech.

The 29-year-old has struggled for game time under Tuchel due to the German manager preferring to play with a system that doesn’t suit the Moroccan’s skillset. When the Blues changed their formation and played with a back four, Ziyech showcased his brilliant ability in games, especially against Tottenham Hotspur. The latest reports have stated that Ziyech has handed in a transfer request as he looks to play regular first team football next season.

Ziyech was linked with AC Milan last summer too, and again it is being reported that the versatile winger has been offered to the club given its interest in acquiring his services. AC Milan is prepared to take Ziyech on loan for a season with a loan fee of €5 million and an obligation to buy for around €25 million, making the total package around €30 million. Now, having signed the Moroccan for €42 million in the summer transfer window of 2020, selling Ziyech for €30 million  would mean that the club would still lose some money. But with no space for Ziyech in Tuchel’s system, it is a hit the club should be willing to take.

Another player that has a high chance of being sold this summer is German striker Timo Werner. With the club interested in the services of Juventus superstar de Ligt, Chelsea has offered the Italian giant some money and Werner to secure the services of the defender. According to the Italian journalist Daniele Longo, the Blues are convinced that they can close the deal, and Juventus has given the green light to taking Werner. Negotiations are said to be continuing in the coming days between the two sides as they are still some distance apart as it stands. There is optimism on Chelsea’s side that the deal can get done though.
