Chelsea vs Tottenham score predictions: Tuchel bests Conte again?
Both Chelsea and Tottenham took all three points on the Premier League’s opening weekend of 2022/23. Regardless of the fact they both added a tally to the win column, they could not have done it in more contrasting styles. Spurs went behind early to Southampton before blitzing Saints for four goals throughout the remainder of the match. The Blues, on the other hand, grinded out a nervy 1-0 victory over a beat up Everton side at Goodison Park. This has a lot of supporters nervously awaiting the historic London Derby from Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
There is no love lost between these two sides, and there is also no shortage of quality either. These are two of the English top division’s best sides from top to bottom. This begins with the managers on the touchline, Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel. The Italian and German coaches are amongst the best in the world and the talent they have at their disposals is world class, as well. Unpredictable doesn’t even begin to describe the meetings between these historic rivals.

Here is how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:
Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 1-3 Tottenham
Chelsea did not look good at all against Everton and it’ll need to be as good as Spurs were against Southampton to even have a shot at this game. The Blues won’t go from Chelsea-Everton bad to Spurs-Southamton good in one week, so there’ll likely be more of a lot of the past week’s performance rooted in this game. Spurs have everything available to expose the home side and it’s hard to not see it happening on Sunday.
Caden Carpenter: 2-1 Chelsea
Spurs should be the favorites, but the match being at Stamford Bridge is going to make a massive difference. Mason Mount scores his first goal of the campaign, and the defense for the Blues will put together a standout outing, headlined by Edouard Mendy.
Mike Malley: 0-0 Draw
Both teams haven’t scored in this match-up since September 2020, and I don’t think that trend will change on Sunday. Both managers are tactical geniuses and they will have their respective squads well-prepared to organize and defend effectively. If either team is to pull out the victory, I, unfortunately, think it will be Spurs, but we can always hope for a Tuchel masterclass at the back. Taking one point from this match would be more than enough.
Gabe Henderson: 2-1 Chelsea
My gut told me to go with Spurs given how dynamic they’ve looked under Conte thus far. However, the match being at Stamford Bridge and the fact that it’s this derby gives me confidence that the Blues can snatch three points from their noisy neighbors.
Dejan Kulusevski is a man who simply cannot be stopped right now. The Swede will fire the visitors ahead before Chelsea comes roaring back through Raheem Sterling. The match winner will come from an unlikely source, who will send the Bridge into a frenzy. Todd Boehly will get to witness the madness in the Matthew Harding for the first time when his side sends Tottenham back to north London with nothing.
Anthony Gatt: 1-1 Draw
The best this Chelsea side can hope for is a draw if it plays like it did against Everton. History is on the Blues’ side, but this is a different Spurs side that scored four goals against without Harry Kane or Heung-min Son scoring. One chance to either of them could spell the end of Chelsea’s unbeaten streak in the Premier League against Tottenham that dates back to 2018. All of that being said, I believe this team at home has enough to scrape out a 1-1 draw.
