Chelsea at Dinamo Zagreb: Predicted XI to kick off the UCL
Jorginho (No. 5) Central midfielder, Italy
Jorginho started the West Ham game from the bench and came on in the 83rd minute. Though it’s not impossible that the Italian was benched due to performance, it’s more likely that he was rested for this Champions League game. Jorginho alongside Kovacic would be perfect for this game as it should give Chelsea control of the midfield and by extension, the game, which is something the Blues have not had in many matches this season.
Ben Chilwell (No. 21) Left wingback, England
Chilwell starts not just because of his goal against West Ham, but because the plan was always for him to share minutes with Marc Cucurella at left wingback anyways. He showed good aerial strength to win his duel against Thilo Kehrer and good anticipation to still follow the ball and knock it past Lukasz Fabianski for the equalizer. Chelsea fans and manager alike are hoping Chilwell gets back to his best, as he was on fire before he got injured in the middle of last season.
Hakim Ziyech (No. 22) Right wing forward, Morocco
Ziyech was linked with AC Milan for most of the summer transfer window and then later linked with his former club Ajax Amsterdam. He is still here, and there’s no doubt he’d give Chelsea 100% as he has always done.
