Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 Chelsea: Player ratings from UCL loss
By Joseph Joe
Raheem Sterling
There was plenty of endeavour during the England international’s 75 minutes on the pitch, but he wasn’t able to match that with the same level of quality. Not that Sterling had much to work with, admittedly. There was one presentable shooting opportunity that opened up in the first half but the former Manchester City star delayed releasing the ball and the chance was wasted. 4
Substitutes
Hakim Ziyech (for Cesar Azpilicueta, HT)
Introduced at the interval to add a creative spark, Ziyech was poor with his crossing, wasteful with his shooting, and hit the wall with two promising free-kicks late on. 3
Armando Broja (for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 59)
Broja should have started. Instead, he got 30 minutes and wasn’t able to have an impact. 4
Jorginho (for Mateo Kovacic, 59)
Brought on to help Chelsea maintain possession. Moved the ball across the pitch but offered little creative threat. 4
Marc Cucurella (for Ben Chilwell, 70)
Defended well as he dropped in on the left of the back three. 4
