Hakim Ziyech could feature for Potter in a starting role this weekend, but Ziyech was extremely poor against Zagreb. Mount, for his part, has led Chelsea in big chances created over the past two seasons, so he can create chances and often does. Mount has created the second most chances this season (7), and his ball progression is quite good, so he’d be a good candidate for the number 10 role under Potter.

Raheem Sterling (No. 17) Right forward, England
Sterling has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season. Sterling has created more big chances than anyone else this season in the Premier League for the Blues. He was primarily the one getting on the end of big chances at Manchester City, Liverpool, and England. However, because there are not a lot of quality creators playing regularly, he has had to play the role of creator, as well as finisher.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (No. 9) Left forward, Gabon
Aubameyang played 59 minutes against Zagreb before Tuchel decided he had seen enough. The former Arsenal captain wasn’t fully fit though, so being hooked off after close to an hour wasn’t really surprising. You’d be hard-pressed to say the former Barcelona man had a good game, as he took zero shots and attempted zero dribbles.

Must Read. Was CFC right to sack head coach Thomas Tuchel?. light

There was a point where he was played through on goal, and he decided to square it to Sterling rather than shoot, despite being in a worse situation. It was his first game in a Chelsea shirt so there’s no need to overcriticize him for that game. He needs to play with Sterling more though, because the earlier he can develop a connection with Chelsea’s only other sure starting forward, the better for him and the club.
