Pride of London discuss what new Chelsea manager Graham Potter said immediately after taking over the Blues.

Firstly, before we get into the business of football, PoL want to offer their sincerest condolences to the Royal Family and everybody affected by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Sport always seems insignificant at times of mourning. Though the website will continue to update our followers on the evolving situation at CFC.

Potter is now the new man at the helm on Fulham Road having left Brighton & Hove Albion for a switch to the capital on Thursday. The appointment transpired consequently to former boss Thomas Tuchel being relieved of duty.

At first, the majority of Chels’ supporter chat I saw on social media was pro-Tuchel; some Blues fans were also particularly unmotivated or unmoved by the Englishman taking over at Chelsea. The Blues faithful certainly appear to be warming to the idea; at this stage, the support has no choice but to back the new gaffer, in actuality.

However, if you trust my opinion on the matter, I would assert that the naysayers observing have most likely gotten this one wrong. The ex-Seagulls chief is a competent, mild mannered, very focused, as well as up-and-coming EPL name. This might materialise into a shrewd move on Todd Boehly’s part.

One glaring element is that Potter has not been tried at the highest level with a huge club. Although that aspect will soon also be challenged.

At the time of writing, Friday, the entire Premier League gameweek 7 schedule was just postponed. And there is talk of further, understandable, disruption to more upcoming fixture lists; one or two may well be suspended. Though that is speculation at this point.
