Chelsea fans will be delighted with Potter’s plans for Broja
Pride of London is sure that most Chelsea fans will be delighted with Blues head coach Graham Potter’s plans for up-and-coming striker Armando Broja.
PoL has mentioned and analysed this topic a few times, but attacking fluidity is also a problem, amidst a lack of goals. On paper, the appropriate personnel – in order to be achieving and challenging at the top of the Premier League – is on the roster. Yet there is a distinct issue with cohesiveness. Hopefully the front line will eventually gel.
Fresh blood cannot be blamed for an uneven balance; Raheem Sterling’s introduction and contributions to scoring have already justified his addition to the Blues squad. Players like Mason Mount and Kai Havertz would typically be much more productive with regard to finishing and assisting. That pair have done next to nothing so far this season.
Nevertheless, the age-old philosophy that class is permanent and form is temporary certainly applies with respect to the still youthful CFC duo. My prediction is that Mount in particular will come good in the 2022/23 campaign. I expect Havertz to eventually do very well somewhere consistently. Whether that is with Chelsea for the foreseeable future remains to be seen.
Clearly Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic should receive potentially reinvigorating starts at Chels’ soon. A boost from a new boss and altered roles could transform their fortunes and aid the team. Another player who deserves a good run of successive matches to prove himself or disprove his suitability, is Broja.

Apparently the Albanian has drastically impressed Potter in training. This fresh speculation includes a suggestion that the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager may actually deploy the versatile striker in the starting XI at some stage.
A report in The Sun claims ‘Potter is raving about Broja’s potential and ability to fit into his system’. And the Blue’s flexibility might perhaps cement him further into Potter’s plans as the latter prefers adaptability within his setups.
However, the 21-year-old will have to supplant veteran Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if he is to secure a starting spot. Or does Potter envisage a partnership in a 3-5-2? Many of the west London side’s supporters have wished for Broja to receive more playing time for a while now.
