Chelsea are considering a potential swap deal in an attempt to secure an exciting transfer for star Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to speculation.

While Blues boss Graham Potter lamented the poorly conceded goal in the Champions League draw with RB Salzburg, there is more of a problem with the quality of attacking on display at Stamford Bridge and when elsewhere in England along with travelling to Europe. That instance – Raheem Sterling being caught lacking in his new role, Cesar Azpilicueta’s uncharacteristically lax marking and Thiago Silva missing a relatively simple tackle with his talents – was hopefully a one-off.

Where the CFC side really and truly needs reinforcing or to generally be more dominant in, is undoubtedly the front line. A couple of players who Chels’ wanted but are with Barcelona may have helped, Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha, but no athlete guarantees success. Besides, Sterling has actually started very well, being one of the only scorers of significance so far.

With the ownership group very serious about eventually challenging Premier League leaders Manchester City again – Liverpool were mentioned previously but seem on an unnecessary and unwarranted downward spiral – we can pretty much expect particularly strong additions to the squad in every New Year period and in summer. Promisingly, incomings will seemingly be a mixture of marquee captures and star prospects. Sort of like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – if he were a few years younger – and Carney Chukwuemeka arriving as a type of transfer duo, one for now and one for the encouraging future. Remember, the Blues have Armando Broja waiting to be properly unleashed, too,

Of course, Todd Boehly and Co. won’t always get it right – thankfully a recruitment head should be winging their way to Fulham Road as soon as possible. Yet there are some obvious playing candidates who could definitely provide that sharp cutting edge. Though signing the eminent or even preeminent won’t be easy, at all.

Chelsea might have to be creative to secure exciting Harry Kane transfer

For about a week, the yearly Kane-to-CFC speculation has resurfaced. Typical, you may say. Potter is an admirer, so the story says – but who isn’t?! Yet this time the rumour is kind of revamped, so to speak.

A current report suggests that the west London side are pondering a sweetener for Tottenham Hotspur in their approach for the England captain. Lukaku is said to be part of a potential swap proposal to be offered to Spurs. In an ideal world, eh?
