Chelsea plan £30m teenage signing as Chalobah eyes transfer
Chelsea are reportedly considering a £30million bid to sign a youngster during the January transfer window. And Trevoh Chalobah is apparently eyeing a move.
Believe it or not, planning will already be appropriately in place for potential Blues dealings in the New Year. CFC chairman Todd Boehly has shown us before that he is absolutely prepared to splash the cash wherever and whenever necessary in order to improve the team.
The board will see the upcoming 2023 market opening as an opportunity. This is an opposing position to certain other clubs viewing it as an element that can cause destabilising or detriment to their respective rosters and thereby their form.
Chelsea should be and supposedly are planing for reinforcements. No disrespect to Boehly, but signings will hopefully be organised as well as controlled by a capable and proven soon-to-be installed recruitment chief.
With that goal in mind, the west London outfit have their eyes on a standout youngster from nearby Fulham. Luke Harris has been identified as “a man worth adding to their squad” by the chair and newly appointed head coach Graham Potter.
While the Mirror may be correct in their claim about the “man”, the 17-year-old is still a teenager. Therefore it is unlikely that the £30m-rated starlet will be joining the first team, but will naturally be considered as another one for the future. At that tender age, Harris is in the senior Wales international squad; he scored a hat-trick versus the Blues Under-21s for the young Cottagers in August, sparking interest.
Of course, Chels’ recently made several exciting acquisitions for the time ahead. With Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina and Cesare Casadei amongst the most promising recruits. Harris signed his first professional contract with FFC this month.
Trevoh Chalobah eyes temporary Chelsea exit
Chalobah is another talent who cannot break into the Chelsea team, or may not be afforded many chances to impress under different management. And so the rumour mill begins to whir. The defender is consequently linked with a loan to Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
The former CFC gaffer has a couple of Englishmen doing well under him: Chris Smalling and Tammy Abraham. Gladly the Blues won’t consider a permanent switch, as they value the player. Chalobah has much potential as I see it; maybe Potter doesn’t agree with that assessment or wants the 23-year-old to develop further first.
