The Blues have not lost or drawn a match against the Irons since late March in a 1-1 draw in the WSL. It is going to be just the third competitive fixture for the new West Ham manager Paul Konchesky as former manager Olli Harder departed the club at the end of the 2021-2022 season following two years at the helm. In response to the shakeup at the top of the managerial tree, the Irons signed a whopping 12 new players during the summer transfer window including bringing in the Japanese international Risa Shimizu to solidify the right side of their defense and securing Lisa Evans on a permanent deal following a successful loan season from Arsenal.

Evans has the only West Ham goal so far this season, finishing off a corner kick opportunity from a rebound, heading it into the bottom left corner to seal the win for the Irons. West Ham still has some of the mainstays in the heart of the formation from last season. The physical French international Hawa Cissoko looks to control the middle of the defense with 33-year-old Kate Longhurst and Dagny Brynjarsdottir who netted the only goal in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in March of last season.
