Mason Mount (No. 19) Right central midfielder, England

Mount played as the right central midfielder against Salzburg and while he was very busy, he wasn’t great. He made six tackles plus interceptions, completed 1/7 dribbles, and completed 3/6 crosses. He won 6/14 duels and had 21 possession losses, creating two chances. He has led the Blues in big chances created in the league for the past two seasons, but the Blues are short of big chances at the moment.

Jorginho (No. 5) Central midfielder, Italy

Jorginho made six tackles plus interceptions and didn’t get dribbled past in the Salzburg game. His distribution was very good and he won 7/7 duels. It was a much better showing from the Blues vice-captain compared to some of his other performances this season.

Mateo Kovacic (No. 8) Left central midfielder, Croatia

Kovacic was poor against Salzburg. He attempted just one dribble, won 5/11 duels, and had a 78% passing accuracy with zero long balls attempted. His ball carrying and passing would be crucial in this game, but he didn’t show much of those skills against Salzburg. Please now click directly below to complete this PoL article, thank you.
