Pride of London look ahead to a possible incoming to Stamford Bridge as the player at the top of Chelsea’s transfer wishlist has been revealed.

Chelsea’s midfield conundrum persists. The great N’golo Kante remains sidelined, for now. While Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic aren’t forming a combative and influential enough pairing for the Premier League, nor the Champions League.

There is also a chance, whilst they approach veteran status, that both Kante and Jorginho may leave for free next year. Reports suggest each have expiring contracts. New blood is needed in the middle of the park. Oh, and this wanted player must he one of the most talented youthful midfielders on the planet, naturally.

Does Declan Rice fit into that category? Just about, at times. On his day the ever present England international is generally viewed as one of the best around. He is certainly world-class – but Chelsea want world beaters. CFC have to sign the eminent performers of the day in order to achieve their aspirations in the modern era. I would go with Jude Bellingham, if a choice arose.

Although Rice is reportedly atop of the west Londoners’ wishlist, according go FanSided affiliate 90min. Chairman Todd Boehly has shown ambition and a generously free-spending style, so I don’t believe the huge, apparent £120million valuation shall deter the Blues. Boehly’s significant investments are already proving not to be profligate, contrary to some opinions. When Wesley Fofana blossoms – there will be no denying progress.

Chelsea’s Champions League challenge

If the Blues’ home meeting with AC Milan on Wednesday may not be accurately described as ‘must-win’, surely Chels’ cannot afford to lose the contest? Don’t get me wrong, three points are desperately needed but not vital. After this match three more matches are left in the Champions League Group. Albeit one of those games is away to the Italian giants.

A draw on Oct 5 is not the end of the world, as PoL see the matter. And that theory especially goes as Milan are the opposition. Time remains. My pragmatism here may be deluded following the poor start to the UCL campaign, yet the permutations do not lie.

Defeating both Dinamo Zagreb and RB Salzburg in the respective return fixtures is not a forgone conclusion, though it probably should be for Chelsea. However, if it means anything at all, I do actually envisage a CFC victory via a Potter attacking masterclass.
