Chelsea’s Aubameyang seems to be trolling Arsenal’s Arteta
Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems to be trolling his former manager, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, after the two had irreconcilable differences.
If you’re a football fan – especially a CFC or Arsenal supporter – you’ll be well aware that there is no love lost between onetime colleagues Aubameyang and Arteta. For a while at Emirates Stadium, the former Gabon international was a teacher’s pet.
The Spaniard even made his striker an unlikely Gunners captain for a time, which ended in tears. For all of the superb qualities ‘Auba’ possesses, and the fact that he is more of a team player than many understand, he isn’t a typical vocal or physical leader as I see it. When the relationship soured, it became acrimonious fast.
To make my opinion clear before proceeding, I believe Aubameyang was almost a perfect signing at Stamford Bridge, profile and cost-wise. Before he came, I expected him to rid the club of this silly narrative surrounding a supposed No.9 curse, which he is seemingly doing. I thought a specific kind of clinical front man was necessary, which he is, in spite of some pace evaporating with age.
Lastly, if the 33-year-old can keep himself fit and behaving satisfactorily, I assume he will win trophies whilst on Fulham Road, which is likely this or next season in The Pride of London’s view. However, having followed the centreforward’s career since he arrived at the North London outfit and watched the wonderful Amazon Prime Video documentary All or Nothing: Arsenal, we all know that Auba is a bit of an individual, to put it politely.

OK, getting to what you are here for: comments made about the Arsenal manager by the ex-Barcelona man. During an interview with A Jewellers, the latter essentially claimed that the 40-year-old cannot manage big players or influential characters. Furthermore, Auba says Arteta needs young, impressionable footballers who shall listen, be obedient, quiet and obliging.
In the past, the Spanish coach spoke on the Blues player, suggesting that a level of trust was no longer evident when at Arsenal. The former revealed that it was a difficult decision to allow the goalscorer to leave, but one he felt he had to make at the time. This isn’t the first instance in which Auba has insinuated or clearly mentioned negativity concerning Arteta. Yet the striker suggested in a tweet that the video is old.
