The Pride of London detail Chelsea injuries and fitness news ahead of the second crucial Champions League clash with Italian giants AC Milan. This includes Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, N’golo Kante and Hakim Ziyech.

On Tuesday the Blues travel to Italy’s second city, Milan, to face the current Serie A champions. Only five days ago (at the time of writing,) the west London side convincingly conquered their UCL Group E rivals at Stamford Bridge. But how is the CFC squad doing?

Graham Potter’s pre-match press conference was conducted on Monday afternoon; he gave a number of updates on personnel. Prior to this, directly after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers by three goals to nil, the 47-year-old gave reasons for some absences in that match, and information on rotated players.

First of all, left-sided defender Ben Chilwell was obviously rested following a recent return. Wingback Reece James had a dead leg. Meanwhile Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were given ‘breathers’ due to heavy workloads.

Back to the Milan presser, the ex-Brighton & Hove Albion head coach confirmed that two of his men are currently sidelined. Hakim Ziyech is ill and will therefore miss out; the Chels’ medical department will deliver news on the extent of N’golo Kante’s issues at some point in the near future. Apart from that, everyone is available, says Potter.

Can Chelsea destroy AC Milan in Italy as they did in England?

Dismantling the Italian side at Stamford Bridge surprised some and shocked a few. While The Pride of London predicted an astute gameplan from Potter along with a victory, we did not expect such dominance nor a 3-0 scoreline.

The Blues gaffer oversaw a statement win last Wednesday. Yet attaining a similar result at the San Siro will be a different proposition on October 11. The deafening atmosphere as well as a different location always makes prevailing more difficult.

This season the Rossoneri have been triumphant in every one of their home fixtures, most recently defeating the iconic Juventus. After rotating and resting some of his stars against Wolves, Potter will select his best available starting XI for the UCL clash.
