Barcelona are readying themselves in order to potentially put in place transfers for two Chelsea midfielders, according to reports. This contains details as well as The Pride of London’s thoughts.

Expired contracts cost the Blues a few players already over the summer. You could argue that not all who departed were needed or may have been out of starting XI plans. Yet some leavers, such as Antonio Rudiger, were certainly worth retaining.

The German stalwart went to Real Madrid, whereas their rivals, Barcelona, are centric to this story. In the here and now, crucial defender Reece James has extended his stay. And England midfielder Mason Mount should be next; Mount is set to double his salary.

Andreas Christensen switched to the Blaugrana during the offseason, after running down his CFC deal. Not to mention Marcos Alonso joining the the Dane in Spain; the Spaniard was also captured without a fee by the shrewd club.

Now Barca are apparently after two more Chels’ stars, both with agreements that will be up for renewal in under a year. Suggestions are that the Spanish giants want the legendary N’Golo Kante and Italy star Jorginho. Nizaar Kinsella of Evening Standard made the claim.

Out of the two, I favour Kante; though giving into his demands may not be what’s best for the west London club. Unless the pair agree respective new contracts with Chelsea this year, they will be permitted to speak to other teams in January.

AC Milan versus Chelsea at San Siro

As this article was being written, the CFC squad would have been preparing at the team hotel for tonight’s Champions League match against Milan. A meal and much rest before light stretching would be the order of the day, along with a tactical refresh.

The winner of this vital UCL early stage game will be heading to the next phase of the competition atop of Group E. But make no mistake, the Rossoneri will be a much different competitor than the one which Chels’ faced at Stamford Bridge last Wednesday evening.

Can CFC possibly attain two quality victories versus the famous Italian team in under a week? We will find out what master plan Graham Potter has for the Blues at 8pm British time.
