Reports suggest that former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel would be interested in a return to management with the England National team if the position becomes vacant.

Evidently some Blues supporters are still troubled by and concerned with Tuchel’s sacking. To be honest, the dismissal was abrupt. Although I believe the departure justifiable: there were issues within the squad and, according to chairman Todd Boehly, with hierarchy, too. Graham Potter is warranting the appointment through superb direction so far, as well.

Since the German left, more and more negative aspects has been reported. That is not to besmirch Tuchel or the wonderful achievements he, his staff and the players made. The Pride of London reiterate that we wish the former gaffer well in whatever he does next.

And it appears that the 49-year-old could be in the thick of it again in the near future as his name reappears in sporting media. The Telegraph suggest that he would be interested in taking over the England manager role if Gareth Southgate stepped down after the World Cup. I see Tuchel as a head coach potentially suited to a national outfit.

In addition to that, the ex-Chelsea boss had apparently rejected the advances of two English clubs of late. Sadly the two sides were unnamed by the aforementioned outlet.

Next up for Chelsea

Aston Villa are the upcoming opposition for the in form west Londoners. Villa, on the contrary, are struggling under former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard; it appears some of the Villans fanbase have turned on the onetime England midfielder. All this adds to Chelsea’s edge, as I see it, with a run of four consecutive victories spurring on the Blues.

Villa hover only two places and a mere three points over the relegation places, with Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City below them. This means Potter is likely to rotate his EPL lineup again because CFC have three games in six days in the division.

That specific run culminates with an important clash against Manchester United. Only a few days after that is another Champions League fixture versus RB Salzburg as the matches continue swiftly in the run up to the international tournament.
