Chelsea nearly got away with another horrendous attacking and defensive performance, but this time, Manchester United got a well-deserved goal that saw them walk away with two points less than deserved. The performance was so bad that Potter made his first first-half tactical substitution. He took off Marc Cucurella to bring on Mateo Kovacic to change the Blues from a back three to a back four. Here’s how the Blues fared individually on the night:

Kepa Arrizabalaga: 9/10

Arrizabalaga kept the Blues in the game as long as they were. He’s the reason Chelsea fans thought they could win in it through a penalty in the end. He had made five saves before the goal and it would be unfair to expect him to continue to bail the Blues out.

Trevoh Chalobah: 7/10

Chalobah was not impeccable and was part of a defense that gave away a lot of chances. Of course, this is not directly his fault, but he didn’t do much to stop the goalkeeper from facing many shots.

Thiago Silva: 7.5/10

Silva actually won all the duels he contested, though he contested only three of them. His passing was off but he made seven defensive actions, including five clearances, which indicates just how much pressure CFC was under.
