Thiago Silva (No. 6) Centerback, Brazil

Silva may have to play due to Kalidou Koulibaly not being 100% fit yet. He was not great against Manchester United, and neither was he poor.

Marc Cucurella (No. 32) Left centerback, Spain

Cucurella was once again subbed off in the first half when Potter decided to move to a back four, which confirms that Potter trusts Chilwell more not on the flanks as a left back/left wingback.

Ben Chilwell (No. 21) Left wingback, England

Chilwell wasn’t great against Manchester United, but Silva would probably not play this game so Potter may well have to use all three of Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly in this game.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (No. 12) Right wingback, England

Loftus-Cheek did OK last time out, though he’s had better performances in Chelsea blue. He is giving Potter something to think about for when James is fit to play again. If he plays well enough, Potter will be desperate to include him in proceedings even if it’s not at right wingback.

Mateo Kovacic (No. 8) Right central midfielder, Croatia

Kovacic wasn’t great against Manchester United having come on for Cucurella for the formation change. He will start this game because him alongside Jorginho can help control the midfield, and therefore the game, for the Blues.
