Sam Kerr and Pernille Harder combined for seven goals against Vllaznia on Wednesday, and after Harder missed the beginning few contests of the season, the two seem to be making up for it since the Everton victory on the road. Over the seven matches that these two teams faced off, the Blues have one every single one, but the 1-0 Chelsea win in March of last season nearly put CFC title hopes to bed if it wasn’t for Kerr’s late game heroics.

Chelsea fans remember the emotional celebration by Kerr and the reaction from Emma Hayes on the sideline the last time these clubs lined up, and with the added talent and confidence against top opponents, the Villains hope to give the Blues yet another game that requires every ounce of energy. Two out of the last three games between these two sides have been decided by one goal. Only two goals have been scored by Aston Villa against Chelsea through those seven contests, but with a bolstered attack compared to last season, Ward hopes she has found a way to crack the code.

With the additions of French international, Kenza Dali, former NWSL standout, Rachael Daly in the frontline, and maintaining young sensational Hannah Hampton in the net, Aston Villa is prepared to disrupt the Blues as they continue to put pressure on both Arsenal and United at the top of the table. The Villains have only failed to score in one game this season as they try to end the clean-sheet streak that Chelsea is currently on in all competitions.
