5. Raheem Sterling (Right Wingback): 4/10

Started as a wingback but soon went to the wings. Throughout the game Sterling was very wasteful and soft on the ball in the final half, going down very easily and breaking any momentum Chelsea are creating. By far his worst performance in a Chelsea shirt. Sterling was replaced by Aubameyang in the 63rd minute.

6. Ruben Loftus Cheek (Central Midfielder): 5/10

The first contribution of Ruben Loftus Cheek came as an own goal in the 14th minute to double Brighton’s lead. Throughout the game, Loftus Cheek could not influence the game in a positive way and was very well dealt with by the Brighton players making it seem as if the English midfielder was not even on the pitch.

7. Mateo Kovacic (Central Midfielder): 5/10

Mateo Kovacic tried his best but came short in the final half and in playing the final pass. The Brighton midfield was successful in pressuring the Croatian midfielder which lead to bad passes and possession being lost. For Brighton’s fourth goal, it was Kovacic’s mistake which lead to it.

8. Christian Pulisic (Left Wingback): 5/10

Pulisic had the best chance to open the scoring for Chelsea but pretty much missed an open goal and shot his effort wide. Throughout the game, Pulisic was barely influential in the final third getting out muscled every time he tried to dribble past the Brighton defenders. Very frustrating displace from the American international. Pulisic was replaced by Armando Broja in the 79th minute.
