Chelsea midfield maestro: Ingle continues to dazzle from her beginnings to now

In the spaces that Graham Potter and his side have struggled with have been the most effective ones for Hayes and the Blues. The middle of the park has been bypassed over the last few weeks by the opponent against Potter’s side, but Erin Cuthbert and Sophie Ingle have completely controlled the most critical part of the pitch, leading the Blues to an unimaginable run of form heading into a battle with Spurs at Stamford Bridge this upcoming weekend.

Cuthbert’s talents have been well-recognized throughout the season with her ability to disrupt attacking play through effort and tenacity, but the Welsh captain has been one of if not the most essential piece to the Blues coming out on top during the past few matches. The 31-year-old has been in west London since 2018, and for a short stint from 2012 to 2013, and through all the accolades, Ingle’s football career could have come to an end at just 12 years old. Her story to get to where she is today is simply remarkable. Ingle was forced to simply attend school, and kick the ball around her neighborhood for three years with no women’s club team in her area available at that time.
