According to a report, Chelsea Football Club and head coach Graham Potter have made a final decision concerning Romelu Lukaku’s future.

About time. Here at The Pride of London, we give you the news, sure. But, more importantly for us is to digest updates and offer our followers our undiluted and almost instantaneous opinions on said news. This time, our view is a positive one. Severely unimpressive and drastically overpriced signing Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan in Italy’s Serie A, should not be returning to Stamford Bridge in the future.

Banter aside and everything else, I wish the Belgian nothing but success, I just don’t think he’ll find that with the Blues. Clearly he can score in the Premier League, now and again. Although, I don’t think he handles the immense pressure well at all; we witnessed that collapse again at the World Cup very recently.

After the disappointing Belgium exit, partially due to more missed attempts via Lukaku, it was reported that CFC are not interested in having him back in the future. Inter are apparently arranging an extension to the loan; PoL’s position would be agreeing a permanent switch for the 29-year-old.

There is nothing to worry about regarding Mason Mount’s Chelsea contract

Whichever way you look at it, Mount remaining a Blue is the best outcome for the club. Yes, his form is uneven over the past year or so, and he gets more chances than other players. In addition to that, he is a manager’s pet – whoever is in charge of whatever team he’s representing. Though all that is pretty much justifiable. And not just because of what he can offer a side – but, essentially, the England international’s willingness to honour the particular head coach’s game plan.

Maybe Mount doesn’t deserve the stratospheric salary that is being reported – up to £200,000 per week – yet who does justifiably earn that kind of silly money? Nevertheless, the forward-thinking midfielder is exceptional on his day, as well as deadly. Even this season he’s shown what he has in the locker, on rare occasions, so he’s better in the camp than out of it!

Imagine Mount going to another Premier League side and coming back to haunt the Blues. That outcome is believable and would be excruciating for the west Londoners’ support. With an existing contract expiring in 2024, it is time for the Three Lions man to sign a new deal.

However, Chels’ supporters don’t have to worry about supposed issues relating to the 23-year-old’s negotiations with the club. Trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano reassured fans that talks are ongoing between both parties, as well as rejecting rumours of a breakdown in discussions.
