For the second time in just 15 days, the Chelsea Women meet up with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Blues now travel to the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano to take on Alberto Toril, and a Madrid team that has outscored its opponents 9-2 in the last two contests in Liga F. In the last encounter, los Blancos were overrun by the brilliance of Erin Cuthbert in the middle of the pitch as Chelsea took complete control of the group, defeating the Spanish side 2-0 under the lights in southwest London.

Emma Hayes’ team have had just one match against bottom-of-the-table Leicester City following their win over Real Madrid. It presented Hayes the ability to give rest to many of her key contributors for the majority, or even the entire match at the King Power. Confidence is abundant all throughout Hayes’ side at the moment with 14 different players having accumulated at least one goal contribution so far this season in all competitions.

With the Blues in striking distance of stealing the group with a win, Real Madrid must attempt to slow down a potent Chelsea squad that currently is moving in the right direction on all fronts. The lack of creativity up top for Madrid was clear as day in the first fixture as Kadeisha Buchanan pieced together one of her best performances at CFC so far. Buchanan was constantly one step ahead of the Spanish side, blocking the most shots by any Chelsea player on that night.
