Chelsea predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest: Kai Havertz leads the frontline
Midfield:
Central midfield: Jorginho
Jorginho is quintessential to Chelsea when it comes to controlling the tempo of the game and helping the Blues dominate the midfield battle. With the Italian at the base, Chelsea seem much more comfortable in attack.
Jorginho will once again be trusted to be the focal point of Chelsea when they begin an attack from deep and offer an outlet for short passes as the team moves forward in attack.
Central midfield: Denis Zakaria
Denis Zakaria was handed his first Premier League start last time around and he repaid the faith shown in him with a robust and steely performance alongside Jorginho. When Jorginho got sloppy at times, Zakaria was there to provide cover, defining his role in this Chelsea side.
Zakaria will be tasked with mopping up and making interceptions while making his presence felt in the attack too, supplementing Mason Mount and others.
Central midfield: Mason Mount
Potter seems to trust Mason Mount with his life as the Englishman has played every game since Potter took over and though Mount’s displays have been turbulent, he has started to show his best version recently.
The Englishman has often been the nucleus of Chelsea’s attack when going forward and much of it passes through Mount. The potency of wingers like Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic increases because of Mount’s attacking drive.
