Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea: 3 things to look out for
Chelsea has finally returned to winning ways. They picked up a comfortable 2-0 win against AFC Bournemouth in a game that saw AFCB create very little, which would be good news for Graham Potter. CFC now needs to extend that run, and go on a win streak. Many fans have waxed lyrical about the Blues’ performance against the Cherries, but to know if this performance can be replicated in future games, here’s three things to look out for:
Use of the ball in the final third
Chelsea put Bournemouth under intense pressure for about 70 per cent of the game and won the ball back in very good areas, especially in the final third. However, despite this, Potter’s men only took four shots with an xG of 0.15* or higher, out of 15 total shots. They also only created two clear-cut chances. These numbers don’t reflect the Blues’ dominance in the game, and this has been a theme for the majority of the past three seasons.
For comparison, Manchester City equally dominated Leeds United and they created seven clear-cut chances with the space they got, taking 11 shots with 0.15 xG or higher out of 26. Liverpool also controlled the majority of the game against Aston Villa and they created seven big chances as well, taking seven shots of 0.15 xG or higher out of 16.
