Chelsea predicted XI vs Man City: Can it get worse with another 4-3-3?
Mateo Kovacic (No. 8) Central midfielder, Croatia
Kovacic wasn’t great in the Forest game when he came on either. He gave the ball away that led to a very promising attack for Forest not long after he came on. He still remains one of the most important players for the Blues in the coming game, as the side need someone who can bypass pressure consistently.
Mason Mount (No. 19) Central midfielder, England
Mount also plays against City, though he was equality poor against Forest. He’s also playing for a new contract so expect a good performance from him.
Hakim Ziyech (No. 22) Right winger, Morocco
Ziyech was CFC’s best forward on the day against Forest, despite playing 18 minutes. he won three fouls and 4/6 duels. His linkup play was very good on the right hand side with Conor Gallagher and Cesar Azpilicueta, and he was the only player that created a big chance on the team.
Raheem sterling (No. 17) Left winger, England
My reason for playing Sterling as a left winger is one that will surprise you greatly. See, Sterling should play on the left against Man City because he’s actually a left winger, not a right winger or a right wingback as Potter has insisted on playing him!
Kai Havertz (No. 29) Center forward, Germany
Havertz is Chelsea’s joint highest scorer in the league this season, and he’s in better form than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, though just barely.
