Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Stamford Bridge midweek to face hapless Potter’s Chelsea. The Blues did manage to start the game well. However it only took 20 mins for CFC to suffer two more injuries to add to the lengthy list of players already on the sidelines. Despite the setback, Chelsea displayed resilience and were the dominant side throughout the first half of the game.

The away team kicked off the second half asserting dominance and enjoyed long spells of possession. Chelsea’s backline did deal with the pressure very well until Pep’s substitutes managed to find the back of the net. After which the Blues worked hard and did give their best but failed to take away any points from the game.

Even in the face of defeat, majority of the CFC players put on a decent show and definitely deserved more from the game. This match also witnessed the ability and depth that Potter has for his disposals as the ‘wonderkids’ heavily influenced the game. In spite of an unconvincing performance overall, there were three players who stood out from the rest.
