According to a report, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has approached the Blues about returning to Stamford Bridge – CFC respond.

Mourinho is another Chelsea icon. We all know that the Portuguese won three Premier League titles with the Blues, along with the FA Cup on one occasion and the League Cup three times. What a cabinet that is; if you add his other silverware, the collective feats are astounding. He is still revered among the majority of CFC supporters, if not all who remember and know their history.

Would you take Mourinho back at Stamford Bridge for a third stint? You probably haven’t thought about it at all, or much. But this possibility entered the media sphere on Friday.

Supposedly, the 60-year-old’s representatives contacted the Blues to offer his services. Although, in response, the Chels’ hierarchy are said to have reiterated their support for current boss Graham Potter.

Interesting things Graham Potter said after Chelsea’s Liverpool stalemate

Following the Anfield clash, where there was a noticeable uplift in Blues intensity and quality at times, the CFC head coach cited “energy, spirit and discipline” as positive parts of the performance. I’m sure Potter was also pleased – and entertained, like the rest of us – by Mykhailo Mudryk’s barnstorming cameo.

Yeah, the Ukrainian’s finishing requires refinement, which he has began to conduct after training. But he was absolutely exhilarating! By the time Mudryk had already been with the west London club for a couple of days, the English gaffer saw “positive signs”. What an understatement.

In addition to these points, the ex-Brighton & Hove Albion boss gave insight into his expectations for the remainder of the season. Well, in actuality, Potter claimed that he and his squad must just focus on the very next practice session and match.

However, the subdued manager did reveal that he was excited about the second half of the campaign, just about, when prompted. I have a feeling Potter and the side are about to embark on a decent phase of play and solid results to win us around, myself included.
