Chelsea are understood to have inserted a prudent add-on into Jorginho’s Arsenal transfer. Meanwhile, the transfer fee was revealed with the Blues doing well.
I reckon the best way to describe Jorginho switching to north London is that the scenario suits both clubs. Chelsea get some funds before the Italy international’s current deal expires, while the Gunners have cover and experience in midfield. He may help AFC attain another trophy, who knows.
The fee is supposedly £13million, which feels fair for a high calibre player, but one who is, erm, slowing down. There are usually a few stipulations in these situations. with Arsenal gunning for the Premier League, CFC are said to have requested an add-on for the eventuality that Mikel Arteta’s team do win the title.
Any more signings for Chelsea with transfer window expiring and market scoured?
I think there are likely to be more outgoings on Fulham Road than incomings as the window prepares to shut and Sky Sports News goes into overdrive. Obviously Enzo Fernandez appears to be the priority at the Bridge, yet that deal is up in the air at the time of writing.
Will the Blues target another midfielder if they don’t secure the Argentine now that ‘Jorgi’ is going? Potentially. However, the clock is ticking, and an absolute haul of talent has already been captured by CFC.
Should Conor Gallagher leave, Graham Potter might perhaps consider his options light in the middle of the pitch. Though, the Blues want £50m for the former Crystal Palace loanee but are reluctant for Gallagher to be loaned out again.
Some younger Chels’ players could temporarily depart. Highly rated youngster Omari Hutchinson is the subject of interest from the Championship as well as around Europe, supposedly. Although CFC are yet to decide on his immediate future.
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that they are working on an agreement to sign Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech. But PSG manager Christophe Galtier says Ziyech remains a Blue at present. On a side note now, it seems CFC won’t offload Tiemoue Bakayoko this month.
I think talk of Manchester City coming in for Ben Chilwell is unlikely to materialise. Chelsea accepting a regular offer from such an EPL competitor for a crucial asset, on today of all days, is fanciful.
