Predicted Chelsea lineup vs Fulham: Mudryk starts in 4-2-3-1, Enzo on the bench
Midfield:
Central midfield: Mateo Kovacic
Mateo Kovacic should be back in the starting eleven after not featuring against Liverpool. The Croatian midfielder is a key component in Potter’s system. With Jorginho gone, his responsibilities are bound to increase.
Kovacic has been quintessential to Chelsea. His work rate off the ball releases pressure off people around him and makes him a reliable outlet in possession. Through Kovacic, Chelsea gain more control in the midfield.
Central midfield: Ruben Loftus-Cheek
The fans would be eagerly waiting for Enzo Fernandez to start the game for Chelsea but the Argentine is unlikely to start against Fulham. He jetted to London on Wednesday and will not have enough time to train and get blended into the team for the Fulham game. With Jorginho gone, N’Golo Kante still sidelined, Ruben Loftus-Cheek should start the game after being sidelined for almost a month with calf injury.
Attacking midfield: Mason Mount
Without a doubt, Mason Mount must start against the Cottagers. The Englishman has recently gotten a lot of flak for his turbulent performances but he remains a creative outlet who can drive the ball forward with intent and determination.
Mount has been integral to Potter’s side and has played every game in which he was available since Potter took over at Stamford Bridge. He is efficient in playing the No.10 role and will have some support from Kovacic.
