And with one of the least potent attacking lines arriving in west London on Saturday, under 2.5 total goals to be scored feels like a lock. The odds are pretty solid at -110, especially considering this bet would’ve hit in 14 of the Blues’ 16 previous games. I recommend riding it until the pride can find the back of the net with any sort of consistency.

While Chelsea’s attack has been pretty toothless in recent months, the defense has been relatively impressive. Especially since the addition of Benoit Badiashile to the Premier League squad, the Blues have looked significantly more confident and been keeping clean sheets regularly. The back line has conceded only once with ‘Big Ben’ positioned alongside Thiago Silva, forming a combination that brings confidence and security to the advanced players. I imagine the former Monaco man will be deployed yet again against the managerless Saints, so I don’t expect much of an attacking threat to come from the visitors. For these reasons, I like the away team under 0.5 goals at -122 odds.

Official odds (via FanDuel as of February 17)

Over/Under: 2.5 (-110/-110)

My Chelsea picks:

It’s been tough sledding for the betting guide series since the end of the World Cup, but I know that we’ll turn things around quickly. I’m 7-for-8 betting unders on the year, so I’m feeling confident in my first official play for the Saints match; the aforementioned under 2.5 goals at -110. I’ll also take the away team to score under 0.5 goals prop, coming in at -122. Finally, I’ll ride with no on the both teams to score prop at -150 odds.

Hot. Boehly meets Neymar’s reps to push for Chelsea transfer. light

Those who read the guide for the Dortmund clash will know that I’m picking against the two bets that missed on Wednesday. Maybe fading my past self will pay some dividends. (Odds are subject to change at any time)
