Coming out of another international break, Emma Hayes and the Chelsea Women head right into a daunting run of fixtures over four different competitions. Finishing off West Ham in convincing fashion on the road to advancing to the Conti Cup final at Selhurst Park was the exact result this team needed heading into a break. The matches prior were filled with lulls throughout the contest where Chelsea Women decided it was time to write the match in the history books before the final whistle blew.

Jonas Eidevall and the out-of-form Gunners await the Blues in two-cup ties before CFC returns back to WSL action a week later. The fifth round of the FA Cup at Kingsmeadow begins an intimidating run of fixtures in February and March before the Blues seek to finish their revenge tour and bring the Conti Cup back to west London after a year hiatus.

With the absence of its two most formidable goal-scorers, Arsenal has struggled to find any sort of consistency since the turn of the new year. The north London outfit has been held to just two goals in three WSL contests since coming back from the winter break.

The Gunners have drawn or lost three out of their last six games, and one of their wins took extra time to seal the deal against Manchester City. With that, the north London side has moved down to fourth in the WSL, three points behind Gareth Taylor’s side with a game in hand.
