Graham Potter makes wild claim about Thomas Tuchel
During his pre-match press conference ahead of the London derby versus Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea head coach Graham Potter made a critical claim about the 2022 preseason which was overseen by former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.
An interesting story involving Enzo Fernandez caught my eye on Friday morning. Basically, Chels’ apparently intensified their chase for the Argentina World Cup winner because of ‘fears’ that other superclubs would target him. The potential suitors includes a whopping six Champions League rivals; all of the unnamed sides would have tried to capture Enzo at the end of the season. Although nothing seems right at Stamford Bridge in 2022/23, I feel that signing the 22-year-old will eventually prove wise.
Again, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice’s names were mentioned as still on the list to prospectively join the west London team over the summer. They were on a wishlist of nine candidates in January, along with Enzo. Although, the same article suggests Bellingham will be in huge demand during the next transfer window. The most significant outfits, such as Manchester City and Real Madrid, will be chasing the 19-year-old’s signature.

So, at Potter’s presser, the Englishman was in, erm, fine form. He began by apologising for being late as well as ironically stating that he’d just arrived from a crisis meeting, hence the tardiness. I’m quite sure that the quip will go down like a lead balloon with the Blues fan base.
At least he has a sense of humour, because what is transpiring on the pitch is nothing short of upsetting for CFC supporters. But Potter has made a rather judgemental revelation, which he says emerged from the squad’s claims. Essentially, the Ex-Brighton & Hove Albion, Ostersunds and Swansea City manager suggested that his current roster had a suboptimal preseason under Thomas Tuchel.
Players are said to have informed him that the warmup time under the German was the “worst ever”. Wild. Is this an attempt by the Englishman to excuse his and his men’s pretty awful play and tactics this campaign since taking charge from Tuchel?
