Graham Potter receiving death threats is an absolute disgrace
The Pride of London detail and discuss how Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been receiving death threats and that his family were also verbally abused.
We all love football. That we can agree on, presumably. Sometimes I ponder if that is the only thing fans concur. You’ll see the most clear cut and objective of topics under discord on social media, especially Twitter, or the ‘FT’ section of the platform. I’m not trying to preach here, but disrespect and menacing is getting out of hand, way out of hand.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard, apart from my title, but the Chelsea head coach was targeted by some foolish people who will hopefully soon be in trouble with the authorities. ‘Vile’ abuse was even aimed at Potter’s children, which is unforgivable. The Englishman confirmed this during his pre-match press conference before playing Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Basically, the Blues gaffer said he’d received emails wishing that he and his loved ones would perish. How pathetic and disgusting. Why is his life being threatened over sport, and what have his family got to do with it?! senseless.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea
Yeah, Chels’ are going through a bad patch, but it won’t last forever. Nothing does! And with the support and backing this great club has, they’ll be back on top – maybe of the Premier League – in no time. Well, maybe a season or two. Neither am I promising instant glory, these team evolutions take time. Put it this way: Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, CFC co-owners, won’t allow it to get any worse than it already is at Stamford Bridge.
Back to the beautiful game, as the west London side must beat north Londoners at the weekend in order to even begin to save the campaign and construct something vaguely team-like. On paper, Chelsea should at least be scoring goals by now!
I mean, I would never let Potter off the fact or accusation that he’s not getting enough out of this squad of exceptionally talented footballers. Tactically, questions are rightfully being asked about the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager. Will Chelsea defeat Spurs? No, I don’t think they will, and Potter might subsequently feel more heat.
