3. Graham Potter

The majority of the Chelsea faithful had already lost all faith and were unconvinced with Potter’s methods and his ability to turn things around. However, after understanding the fact that the Board plans to back him at least until the end of this season, the fans got behind Potter in the hope of him winning at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium just like all the other managers have in the recent years.

But Potter managed to disappoint the fanbase with yet another defeat and this time around, the execution was even worse. Right from naming to the Playing XI to the substitutions and then the post match press conference, Potter got everything wrong.

Havertz has been arguably one of the worst Chelsea players this season. And despite the fans urging Potter to start David Datro Fofana or Aubameyang instead, he chose to use the German. And then resisted when it came to taking him off too. As discussed in the first point, Potter should’ve taken the Moroccan off the pitch but delayed that decision too. He then possibly lost the entire fanbase after the second goal which could’ve been prevented, had the changes been introduced earlier.

The game ended with the CFC fans raging. And Potter’s “The boys gave their everything” ensured all that all the fans turn against him. The fans want him gone already and rightly so. But as per Fabrizio Romano, “Message after the game – time to back Potter and give him time, new round of internal talks in the next hours and the next week, feelings can be different but intention is the same – stick with Potter. Internally, Klopp/Arteta comparison was mentioned.”

This means that the Chelsea supporters will have to drop their demands again and continue to back the club and it’s manager through this rough patch. However, if things don’t change eventually, Potter definitely will find it difficult to fulfil his long term project envisioned at Chelsea.
