Chelsea’s Kai Havertz

With the exception of Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz has played more minutes than any other Chelsea player this year. Havertz has been Potter’s only true option up top after dropping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Armando Broja picking up a season-long injury. As a result, Havertz has made 26 starts despite having David Datro Fofana at his disposal, as of this year. In that time, the German international racked up SIX goals and only one assist in all competition, certainly not a player the club should be relying on for goals.

During Potter’s early time at the club, the Gabon international was his preferred No.9, which brought positive results for the west London club. Aubameyang is yet to be given a chance to play with new January signings and needs to be given another looked. I’m hoping to see either ‘Datro’ Fofana or Aubameyang start over Havertz for the blues against their rivals, Leeds United.

Hakim Ziyech

There should be no reason to keep starting a player who wanted out on deadline day, and was allegedly backstabbed due to some dodgy work from his employers. His performance against London rivals, Tottenham, perfectly summed up his feeling – frustration. A player I believe won’t be here come pre-season in the summer. After being initially sent off by the referee for a slap on Spurs’ right wing back, Emerson Royal, he was luckily given a lifeline as VAR reversed the decision.
