I’m genuinely unsure about how to approach betting on Tuesday’s match. On the one hand, CFC only needs one goal to send the tie into extra time and play for penalty kicks, so I can see the Premier League side setting up defensively to stifle their opponents if they find an early goal. On the other hand, the Blues’ desperation to score could potentially leave them vulnerable at the back against one of the most ruthless attacking lines on the continent right now, so we may be treated to a high-scoring thriller. I’ll probably stay away from the over/under for this reason, but I do like draw for the halftime result at +125 odds. The west London outfit has gone into the break with the score level in seven of their previous eight games and Potter needs to ensure his team is wary of an initial onslaught by Borussia Dortmund.

With this bet in mind, I’m leaning towards a heavy favorite with my second selection in the away team first-half under 0.5 goals prop listed at -190 odds. The Blues have held their opposition scoreless during the first half of three of their last five contests and conceded the fourth-fewest goals before the break in the EPL with 11. Again, I think it’s likely that Edin Terzic instructs his players to try and put the tie out of reach as soon as possible, so Chelsea’s back line will need to be fully focused from the opening whistle. Because the odds are so brutal for this play, I’d recommend putting down at least 1.5 units if you want to see any sort of value on the return.
