Chelsea will host Dortmund at the Stamford Bridge in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League tie mid-week. The pressure is obviously on the Blues as they suffered a 1-0 beating at the Signal Iduna Park. However the Chels’ faithful would like to believe that the times have changed. CFC picked up three points on the weekend, although by the finest margins, the win must have brewed some confidence in that dressing room.

The owners have backed Graham Potter throughout, however last week, there were reports suggesting that the Leeds and Dortmund games could prove to be crucial in terms of the Gaffer’s stay at the club which is exactly why co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali joined Todd Boehly in the stands and is expected to be in attendance tomorrow as well.

In spite of beating Leeds, Potter’s job is not safe. The Board is split with regard to backing the manager and a defeat in the second leg could place the Solihull native in jeopardy.

However, Chelsea have finally managed to win and Potter could look to build on that performance. The change in formation worked in CFC’s favor and the side did look much more organized. The return of the likes of Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell and Mateo Kovacic proved to be a massive boost to the squad. And the supporters can now hope for a comeback and see the side progressing to the Quarter Finals of the competition.

Dortmund on the other hand have maintained their win streak. However their no.1 – Gregor Kobel is set to miss the match after picking up an injury during a pre-match warm-up. Youssoufa Moukoko, Julien Duranville and Mateu Morey have also been sidelined. There are injury doubts over Karim Adeyemi and Donyell Malen. And Julian Ryerson will miss out through suspension.
