Right Wing Back: Reece James

Reece James’ stance remains unclear and will be the highlight of today’s press conference. However the last time around, Potter did mention that the game on the weekend came to soon and the England International should be ready for the game against The Black and Yellows.

If he’s not up for it already, the Gaffer can pick between Ruben Loftus-cheek who was average on the weekend or could even try Hakim Ziyech in that role.

Central Midfield: Enzo Fernandez

Enzo Fernandez is a player who CFC can’t afford to drop. The Argentine has been ingenious since the day he joined and with every passing game, he only tends to get better creating yet another record in the last game. He is now the first Chelsea player in all competitions to to record 10+ accurate long balls (10/12), ball recoveries (10) and final third passes (22/30) this season in a single game.

Central Midfield: Mateo Kovacic

The Chels’ supporters were divided when it came to choosing Fernandez’s partner. Most of them perceived that Denis Zakaria’s physical attributes could help relieve the Argentine from some of his defensive duties and allow him to player with more freedom.

However, Potter gave Kovacic the nod and he didn’t disappoint. The Crotian International stepped onto the field with the captain’s armband and made more tackles (6) than any other player on the pitch and double the amount of any other Chelsea player. This should guarantee him a place in tomorrow’s Starting XI.

Left Wing Back: Ben Chilwell

What a relief Chilwell’s return to the side has been! The England International reminded the Chels’ faithful of his abilities. Chilwell’s fast-paced runs on the left flank to reach the end of the diagonal balls played to him kept the opposition under constant pressure. He was also partly responsible for Fofana’s goal, displaying his set piece prowess.
