Chelsea may make two very different Bundesliga signings this summer. The Pride of London offer a verdict on Manu Kone and discuss Tim Steidten.

First of all, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Kone: the midfielder is highly sought after, with both Paris Saint-Germain and the Blues named as illustrious admirers. He is a midfielder who has featured for the France Under-21 team; that fact is usually a feather in the cap and a hint of absolute quality, from my experience. According to a report, PSG and CFC have enquired over the availability of the 21-year-old; Graham Potter’s side might perhaps have the edge due to the footballer’s wish to play in the Premier League.

Meanwhile the Blues reportedly covet another Bundesliga asset. Chelsea are said want to appoint a director of football at Stamford Bridge. Steidten was in the frame, and apparently there’s now a chance to go for the German again. There is a suggestion in the media that the 43-year-old will join the west London outfit at the end of the season.

Chelsea vs Everton in the Premier League on Saturday evening

15th placed EPL side Everton visit Stamford Bridge this weekend. Chels’ remain in 10th position in the division, yet there appears to be an air of confidence and swagger creeping back into Blues proceedings. The win probability is apparently 67 per cent in the home team’s favour for the fixture. While the Toffees have a mere 13% chance of winning; a draw rates at 21%.

The outcomes of the last five times the two clubs met tells a revealing story: the record is exactly even following two victories each and one stalemate. Thomas Tuchel was in charge on the previous occasion that CFC played EFC; a Jorginho penalty was the decisive moment. The Italy international is now an Arsenal player, of course. PoL expect a Chelsea victory here, yet possibly only by a slim one-goal margin; Potter has begun cooking, but dinner isn’t quite ready yet.
