As Chelsea welcomes Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, they will be hoping to finish the year strong and will be favorites to win a third straight game. With only eleven games left, the battle of these mid-table clubs, who are tied on 38 points, is unlikely to participate in the race for a berth in Europe if results this weekend don’t go their way. However, a win goes a long way.

Graham Potter’s situation is starting to improve as CFC enters this home game against Villa having gone three games without suffering a loss. The Blues have won two of their last three league games, which is more victories than they had in their previous 15 games put together. The west Londoners has also scored more goals in their last three games than they did in the 12 prior to this stretch of games.

The Villans’ fortunes have undoubtedly changed since Unai Emery took over. Despite them being in the relegation spots before the Spaniard joined, the club will now aim for a top-half finish in the standings. The Claret and Blue outfit has gone four league games without suffering a loss, winning three of those games.
