‘Super Frankie Lampard‘ is back home. Although he struggled the first time, Lampard did enjoy a decent start to life at Chelsea where the club was hit with a transfer ban and did lose arguably one of the best wingers the club ever had in Eden Hazard. Despite the odds being against him, he made integrated multiple academy graduates, something that the supporters hadn’t seen before and managed to qualify for the Champions League. However injuries and issues in the dressing room eventually led to poor performances on the pitch and the legend was relieved of his duties.

Some parts of the fanbase are not completely sure about this appointment and have their doubts which are completely understandable. But as the board have made it clear that they do need some more time and do not want to rush the process. And amongst this, appointing Lampard who is very familiar with the club and most of the players as Caretaker Manager until the end of the season is definitely the right decision.

The message from Behdad Eghbali & Todd Boehly:

"“We are delighted to welcome Frank back to Stamford Bridge. Frank is a Premier League Hall of Famer and a legend at this club. As we continue our thorough and exhaustive process for a permanent head coach, we want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season. We want to give ourselves every chance of success and Frank has all of the characteristics and qualities we need to drive us to the finish line”"

Lampard’s Blues are just about favorites to overcome Wolves at the Molineux Stadium. The Wolves are placed 14th on the table and have only one win in their last six games. On the other hand Chelsea have been busy with issues off the field but the appointment of Frank Lampard should help in focusing on the remainder of the season.
