The 44-year-old interim manager is known for providing the young talents on his team with a chance to prove themselves. The transfer ban may have helped that, but under Lampard’s rule, players like Mason Mount and Reese James began to emerge into the players that have become today. Goals have been impossible to come by. The frontline desperately needs a shake up to allow new faces a chance to execute many of the club’s big chances on net.

The 21-year-old former PSV winger Noni Madueke should be given belief he was not given consistently under Potter. Coming off a standout international break with the English youth national team, Potter made the decision not to build off his form by playing him in the position he is most comfortable in. With Lampard at the helm, these final two months of the season could be a chance for him to find his footing in west London for the first time since coming over in January.

Madueke came off the bench against Aston Villa for the final 34 minutes. During his short stint on the pitch, the youngster completed two of his four take on attempts, the same amount Kai Havertz managed to collect over an entire 90 minutes.

Madueke’s speed and creativity with the ball at his feet have the potential to create far more chances than what many of the regular starters have been able to muster up top. It is not just a coincidence that this player collected a goal and two assists in the final 25 minutes against the French U-21 side a few weeks ago. What more does Lampard have to lose. He needs to find goals quickly, and Madueke can help solve that problem.
