Chelsea confirmed the appointment of Frank Lampard as caretaker manager until the end of the season. A desperate act of fan service that has worked just as well as it has been expected to. Unfortunately, the problem of poor coaching cannot be fixed by more poor coaching, who knew?! Certainly not Chelsea’s board.

The Blues unsurprisingly lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1. It was unsurprising given how the game went, not anything that happened before the game. Here are three positives and two negatives The Pride of London took from the embarrassing loss at Wolves.

Chelsea positives

Kalidou Koulibaly

Koulibaly, for whatever reasons, got criticism from some fans, which is ridiculous because he was the busiest player on the pitch and he shouldn’t have been, considering he’s a Chelsea centerback playing against Wolves. Not only was the Senegal captain so busy, but he also executed most of his actions excellently. He made 17 defensive actions, including 5/7 tackles won, eight clearances, two interceptions, one blocked shot, and one last-man tackle. Two centerbacks in blue shirts made last-man tackles against Wolves. Koulibaly also won 6/8 ground duels, and 2/2 aerial duels, completed 4/5 long balls, and 92% of his passes.
