2. Take a look at next year’s crop of talent

The phrase “bloated quad” has become synonymous with Chelsea Football Club since January, when the team brought in eight new signings and failed to let go of anyone, including Hakim Ziyech, who apparently took a personal flight to Paris to sign with PSG only for his transfer to fall apart in the final hours of the window.

In the final seven games, we need to start getting honest with ourselves about how to remove some of these players. Yes, it’s going to sting. Some people’s favorite players are going to leave the club. But we need to decide who’s a part of this project—and build value for players who may not have seen the field in some time that we’re considering selling.

This goes for academy players (Lewis Hall), fringe players (Ruben-Loftus Cheek), and established regulars (Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher).

Sadly, Armando Broja won’t be back in time from his December knee injury, as it would be nice to see him thrive so we can confirm the ever-sulking Romelu Lukaku’s services absolutely won’t be needed at the club next season.
