Chelsea are now close to appointing this new manager
Chelsea are now reportedly close to appointing a new manager. While negotiations with Mauricio Pochettino are incomplete, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is now the frontrunner.
In spite of continued negative results, there will be an existing hope that Frank Lampard can end the disruption at the west London outfit. As I alluded to, nothing has particularly changed in terms of performance or game outcomes since the ex-England midfielder was reinstalled at Stamford Bridge. And I don’t blame Lampard at all for the endless mishaps, mismanagement and misfortune at CFC on the whole. The situation was very messy prior to the 44-year-old returning.
But it hasn’t just been Todd Boehly and cohorts who have made endlessly ill-informed and rash decisions. Over the past week, the Chelsea squad have had a chance to contemplate the tiny amount they’ve achieved this season, too. In actuality, they have not attained anything! Progress made over the Roman Abramovich era feels almost entirely vanished or ruined. Many of the current so-called Blues ‘stars’ must pull their socks up – to say the absolute least. Following Champions League elimination to Real Madrid, Chels’ entertain Brentford on Wednesday, April 26.

After the widely reported and, I suppose, generally accepted fact that German gaffer Julian Nagelsmann has withdrawn from candidacy for the top Blues job, Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the leader. Again, that’s if we believe media stories. To be fair, we are quoting The Guardian here, which I consider a very reliable source, especially when putting their necks on the line with a claim this overt.
Pochettino is supposedly negotiating a deal to make him the latest boss on Fulham Road. The outlet talk of ‘growing confidence’ that an agreement will be reached between the capital club and the Argentine.
