Fabrizio Romano on incoming Pochettino, Ferguson interest
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has spoken on incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, along with the Blues’ interest in young Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.
CFC supporters are in need of a boost. And, if you ask me, the succession and eventual tenure of Pochettino will do just that. Hopefully. Everything positive The Pride of London predict will be offered with a grain of salt following the optimism everyone felt prior to the full maiden campaign under chairman Todd Boehly and co-owner Behdad Eghbali. They should have the right man, this time. Reports are increasing with respect to the imminent appointment of the Argentine at Stamford Bridge.
So what has Fabrizio Romano said of the matter’s imminence and legitimacy? Well, the journalist claimed that Pochettino is in fact in the latter stages of discussions with the west London outfit. The former adds that talks have progressed well after a meeting in Spain on Monday. All parties expect an agreement soon, says Romano.
Chelsea monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson
In spite of just signing a contract extension with Brighton until 2028, Ferguson apparently remains the target of teams such as Chels‘, Manchester United, as well as Tottenham Hotspur. Some fans and writers obviously initially viewed the situation as a blow for the trio of potential suitors. However, those ‘in the know’ seem to believe that this development is just a ploy by the Seagulls in order to gain the highest possible price for their up-and-coming asset.
The respected reporter suggests that Ferguson will continue to be on the Blues, Man United and Spurs’ respective radars. First of all, the Italian stated that BHAFC had done well to secure their talent. Romano described the move as ‘excellent and fast’ – something that we can all agree the south coast club have been doing for a spell.
