2. Christian Pulisic

Why Chelsea should sell him: He’s never going to be a star at Chelsea, especially if we keep signing more attacking players. Many would argue that it would be a mistake for Chelsea to sell Christian Pulisic this summer. Despite some injury setbacks and inconsistent form, Pulisic has shown moments of brilliance and has scored some big goals for the club, particularly in the Champion’s League.

He had about an eight game spell during Lampard’s first spell at the club where he really looked like he was turning into a world-beater. You can also argue that he’s only 23 and has plenty of room for growth and development.

But here’s the thing: Pulisic is best with the ball at his feet. He needs to play for a team that is going to build their offense around him, and that just isn’t going to happen at Chelsea. Don’t forget, part of the reason CP10 moved to Chelsea was to play in an innovative attacking system under Maurizio Sarri.

"“I’ve seen their style of play,” said Pulisic. “I’ve always appreciated how they’ve played football, and it’s really nice how they play now, with their new coach. It fits me very well.” Bleacher Report"

He’s given it his all for this club—even playing wingback under Thomas Tuchel—and I could actually see him fitting in perfectly with Mauricio Pochettino’s system. But he isn’t going to become Harry Kane 2.0.

Even with a squad clear out, he’s not going to be at the top of the pecking order at Chelsea next year. Especially when you consider that more signings reportedly coming for our attack—ones that may send Ruben Loftus-Cheek packing.

We can still get value for him by selling now. This summer, many clubs will still consider Pulisic to be a young attacker with promise who just didn’t fit our system. But one more season of mediocre results? That might not be the case any longer.
