Chelsea at Arsenal: London derby betting guide and tips
By Mike Malley
I have zero remaining faith in Frank Lampard’s tactical abilities, so any points accumulated by this team on Tuesday will come thanks to luck or the overflow of malice exuding from Mykhailo Mudryk’s being. If there was ever a time for the Ukrainian starlet to announce his arrival, this would be the contest.
I’m fairly surprised at the moneyline value for this matchup, with Arsenal only favored at -160 odds. This number, while still relatively weighted for an individual bet, feels pretty even considering there are 10 places separating these two sides on the EPL table. Additionally, the season’s first meeting between the London rivals, which finished 1-0 in favor of the Gunners, was lopsided despite the scoreline.
The visitors boasted 56 percent possession while generating 2.25 xG, including three big chances on 14 total shots at Stamford Bridge. Gabriel Magalhaes was particularly impressive, scoring the game’s lone goal and playing terrific defense alongside William Saliba. The Frenchman’s absence will be a huge miss, as it has been since he suffered a back injury against Sporting Lisbon on March 16, but I doubt it will be decisive. I expect Arsenal to come out with a vengeance following Wednesday’s beatdown at the hands of Manchester City.
